Welcome to the University of Applied Sciences Ludwigsburg
The University of Applied Sciences Ludwigsburg specializes in the education and training of management staff in public administration. The university’s 1,900 students are taught by 73 professors and roughly 400 lecturers. The two faculties, Management and Law and Tax and Business Law, offer a total of four Bachelors and two Masters degrees. Due to UAS Ludwigsburg’s focus on promoting academic excellence and the university’s innovative, practical approach to teaching, graduates can look forward to a successful career in public administration or in the private sector.

A distinguishing characteristic of our degree programs is the mix of university teaching and practical experience in the form of internships in the offices of public administration at state and municipal levels. Small tutorial groups ensure that we can maintain the highest teaching standards. Applicants to our undergraduate programs must have a high school qualification equivalent to the German Abitur (Baccalauréat/Leaving Certificate/A-levels etc.) .
The University also offers a fulltime Master’s degree programe in European Management of Public Administration. This course prepares graduates for a career in high-ranking public sector positions.
Public administration employees seeking a management position can enroll in the part- time Masters Course in Public Management whose primary focus is leadership in management positions.

Founded in 1999 as a result of a merger of the University of Public Administration Ludwigsburg and the University of Finance Ludwigsburg
Undergraduate courses: four Bachelor’s degrees (Senior Public Service, Tax Administration, Pension Insurance, General Finance Administration), a diploma course (Registrar)
Postgraduate courses: two Masters programs (Public Management, European Management of Public Administration).
Course structure: Small study groups; alternating between teaching at the university and work experience in local and regional authorities.
Centre of excellence for the public sector in the areas of academic studies and training, further education, research, knowledge transfer, as well as international networking and EU-related expertise.
